InterDigital wins patent dispute against Samsung

InterDigital Communications recorded another patent dispute victory. An arbitral tribunal said Samsung Electronics must pay a $134 million payment and interest on Samsung's sales of various mobile-phone technologies through 2005. InterDigital reached a settlement in its royalty obligations dispute with Nokia in April, at which time Nokia agreed to pay the wireless technology developer $253 million. The settlement had to do with Nokia's royalty obligations related to the sale of 2G TDMA-based products.
