Italy's Buongiorno buys Rocket Mobile for $17M

Italy's Buongiorno, which first entered the U.S. market through premium SMS, is buying the U.S. mobile content firm Rocket Mobile for $17 million. It looks like Buongiorno wants to make inroads into the BREW market, dominated by Verizon Wireless, as Rocket Mobile is heavily entrenched in the BREW market. "Thanks to relations developed by Rocket Mobile, Buongiorno will be able to strengthen its relationships with U.S. wireless operators, thus accelerating the B2B distribution channel," said Andrea Casalini, CEO of Buongiorno SpA.
