Juniper to buy Funk for $122M

Juniper Networks plans to acquire access security developer Funk Software for $122 million in cash. The companies expect the deal to close in December. Juniper said its recently announced unified access control solution would be greatly improved by Funk's security solutions, which ensure users meet an enterprise's security policies before gaining access to its network. Since Funk's software is interoperable with products on different types of networks, it will supplement Juniper's current capabilities to secure both wired and wireless networks without changing an enterprise's infrastructure. Some of Funk's products include its RADIUS/AAA server, Steel-Belted Radius, Odyssey Client and an 802.1x client for both wireless and wired networks.
