Looking at the hot trends in handset design

The holiday shopping season is just around the corner, and wireless carriers are offering a seemingly endless parade of new phones to entice customers. Thanks to a recent partnership between Strategy Analytics and FierceWireless, we'll bring you some key metrics related to these new handset launches. During September, another 106 new handsets were announced globally by 26 vendors. For the 59 new handsets where detailed specifications were available, 59 percent incorporated a touchscreen, the highest monthly figure on record, and 95 percent incorporated a memory card slot, another all-time high.  Check out our Special feature.
