Lucent adds support for IMS, inks carrier deals

Lucent Technologies announced support for IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) networking. IMS is a core technology that many insiders predict will help wireless carriers transition their networks to all-IP systems and play a core role in the convergence of landline and wireless networks and services. Lucent also named two customer wins for its VitalSuite solutions: Canada's Telus Mobility and Saudi Telecom. No financial details of the deals were released.
