WLAN infrastructure vendor Meru Networks is mulling whether to add location-based security features to its Security Services Module in order to detect the source of wireless attacks. Location-based security combined with the recently launched SSM would not act as a replacement to dedicated WIDS/WIPS sensors from companies like AirDefense, AirMagnet or Network Chemistry, or even time sharing on radios in access points. Meru claims this module and LBS feature would complement any of these solutions.
