Meru, Firetide partner for wireless VoIP

Wireless mesh networking specialist Firetide and WiFi infrastructure provider Meru Networks forged a partnership to deliver wireless VoIP over mesh networks. The joint solution includes Firetide's HotPort mesh network and Meru's Wireless LAN System. The companies claim their combined solution will provide cost-effective voice over mesh deployments for universities, hotels, recreational venues, airports, municipalities, warehouses, and other large scale environments. No financial details of the deal were released.
