Metric: BRIC carriers need to inform subscribers of mobile data

According to a recent study by Pyramid Research, carriers in the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) group of emerging markets are not doing enough to educate their subscribers about mobile data services. In India and China, 20 percent of users said that they did not receive information about available mobile data services. Fifty percent of respondents in Brazil and Russia said that they were not informed about available data services. A quarter of those surveyed don't use data services because they see no value in them. Other reasons customers don't use mobile data services include: not knowing if the services are available to them (12 percent), the services are too complicated to use (20 percent) and that the services are too expensive (10 percent).
