According to a recent study by ABI Research, 32 percent of wireless devices will be integrated by 2011, especially mobile computing and handset devices. Just less than a third of all Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio IC, NFC, WiFi and WiMedia devices will either combine two or more solutions into a connectivity package or will be integrated themselves with a baseband or host processor. Integration is key to helping silicon makers maintain margins and vendors meeting strict power and board space requirements.
