MetroPCS adds 452K subs as ARPU falls 3.5%

MetroPCS' latest quarterly earnings included strong net income, which increased 8.7 percent to $39.5 million, up from $36.4 million last year and solid subscriber gains. Revenue increased 23 percent year-on-year to $662.4 million.

ARPU: Average revenue per user fell 3.5 percent to $42.22 from $43.75 this time last year.

Churn: MetroPCS' average monthly churn rate remained at 4 percent.

Net Subscribers: The carrier added close to 452,000 subscribers during the quarter, down from 454,000 subscribers in the year-ago period. MetroPCS now has more than 4.4 million subscribers.
