MirrorLink supporters tout framework for in-car apps

The Car Connectivity Consortium envisions having a broad portfolio of applications as the key to connected-car dominance and is currently racing to build a developer community to support MirrorLink, which the group calls the open industry standard for smartphone-car integration. MirrorLink is designed to enable a driver to control a nearby smartphone from the steering wheel or via dashboard buttons and screens. As a major goal for 2013, the CCC wants to enable MirrorLink for all key smartphone platforms, thus encouraging developers to create MirrorLink applications and boosting consumer adoption.
