Motorola combines Canopy with powerline

Motorola plans to offer broadband-over-powerline solutions by combining its Broadband-over-Powerline (BPL) HomePlug products with Canopy, its proprietary wireless broadband platform. Motorola will call its HomePlug products Powerline LV. Utility companies can use Canopy for the last-mile connection and HomePlug for distribution -- or HomePlug to the home while Canopy takes care backhaul. The combined solution is designed to be flexible.
