Motorola invests in mobile messaging firm

Motorola's investment branch, Motorola Ventures, has invested an undisclosed amount in Anam Mobile, an Irish mobile messaging developer. Anam specializes in next-generation SMS and MMS delivery platforms. The company's Smart Services Framework allows operators to launch new SMS and MMS services, helping them increase traffic and boost wireless data revenues. Anam was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Dublin.

In May, Motorola Ventures invested an undisclosed amount in wireless directory assistance provider 422. In April, the capital firm poured $5 million into Mobility Electronics, helping finance a new company division that focuses on power solutions for low-power mobile electronic devices.
