The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Canada's national law enforcement agency, has selected Itronix and Sierra Wireless to provide wireless data systems for its vehicles. Itronix will supply its GoBook III ruggedized notebook computers while Sierra Wireless will provide its MP 775 GPS and MP 555 modems. The mobile systems will allow RCMP officers to quickly access dispatch information and records databases from any location. The MP 775 GPS provides access to EDGE and GSM/GPRS networks on all four frequency bands used worldwide. The MP 555 GPS offers connectivity to CDMA 1X networks, widely available across North America.
