MTV Networks will invest $50 million in Amp'd Mobile and provide the company with entertainment content to 3G wireless platforms. Amp'd will carry original content from Comedy Central, MTV, VH1, CMT, Spike TV and MTV's other properties. The deal includes video clips, ringtones, screensavers, wallpapers and other types of content. The alliance also covers joint marketing and promotions. Jason Hirschhorn, MTV's chief digital officer, has been appointed to Amp'd's board of directors. Amp'd is officially launching its wireless services online this Thursday.
