MTV to launch content over Sprint's CDMA

Viacom's MTV Networks has teamed up with Sprint Nextel to bring streaming video and downloadable content to Sprint PCS Vision Multimedia Services subscribers. Some of MTV Networks' offerings to Sprint's subscribers include Comedy Central, VH1, CMT and Nickelodeon. The companies said the service will launch in October and include exclusive video and music content, news alerts, jokes and ringtones.

MTV's joint venture with Sprint follows on the heels of the company's agreement with Warner Music to create music videos intended for distribution to mobile phones. MTV joins other Sprint multimedia services, including on-demand mobile content from Cartoon Network, E! Entertainment and Sprint TV, a selection of mobile channels from companies such as Discovery, Fox Sports and ABC News.
