NTT DoCoMo's Super 3G: 300Mbps downlink

NTT DoCoMo announced that it has been testing a "Super 3G" network that makes use of a "highly advanced version" of HSDPA and HSUPA (high speed uplink packet access) that have been evolved from W-CDMA technology. The carrier plans on testing the network in an indoor experiment to test transmission speed using one transmitting and one receiving antenna. DoCoMo is expecting speeds of 300Mbps on the downlink. DoCoMo said its Super 3G network will allow it to make a smooth transition to 4G technologies in the future.
