Qualcomm announced its intention to acquire a mobile software and test services provider for $18 million in cash. Qualcomm's acquisition of Qualphone should help the company accelerate 3G migration in Europe and other markets. Qualphone's product portfolio includes mobile client framework software, IMS-based clients apps and handset interop testing services. Safe bet the company was gunning for this since day one given the name.
