Report: Private-equity firm has eye on TeliaSonera

It's becoming fashionable for private equity firms to swoop in on Europe's operators. The latest rumor involves Cevian and TeliaSonera. Nordic newspaper Dagens Industri is reporting that Cevian and some partners have gained rather large stakes in the company and could be preparing for a takeover. Cevian likes TeliaSonera's solid balance sheet and low valuation. Private-equity firms have already succeeded in taking over TDC Denmark and eircom in Ireland.
