The latest J.D. Powers and Associates report found that Verizon Wireless leads the pack when it comes to phone call quality. VZW had the highest call quality performance in five of the six regions tested, while it shared a top spot in the West with Qwest. The report indicated better call quality came from carriers using Qualcomm's CDMA technologies. The study considered seven factors: dropped/disconnected calls; static/interference; failed connection on the first try; voice distortion; echoes; no immediate voice mail notification; and no immediate text message notification. Nearly 30,000 wireless users responded to the survey.
