Rumor Mill: Palm making Linux OS

Rumors are circulating that Palm is developing its own Linux-based OS as an alternative to Palmsource's Palm OS and Microsoft Windows Mobile. Reports suggest that Palm has been investigating the possibility of developing a version of Linux to run on its devices since 2004. More recently it has been hiring Linux software engineers who will lead the the development of the OS. The new OS could be introduced in 2007.
