Safa Rashtchy, a Piper Jaffray analyst, claims Yahoo will introduce a VoIP service within the next two weeks. A research note issued by Rashtchy says the service would be comparable to Skype. He expects Yahoo to launch a dual-tier venture, with one service supported by advertising and the other provided as a paid premium service. Rumors have long circulated that Google is planning a VoIP service. If Yahoo does indeed roll out VoIP in the next two weeks, it would beat its top rival to the punch. Microsoft's MSN currently offers voice over the Internet through its messenger service, as does Yahoo.
