Seven scoops up $42M in VC

The mobile email space has never been hotter for investments and lawsuits: Today Seven scooped up $42 million in venture capital and named Ross Bott CEO. Bott replaces Kent Thexton who will remain on as executive chairman and retain an "active role" in the company. Seven is perhaps most known for its recent court battle with Visto, which filed a lawsuit against the company for patent-infringement and won. Seven is still fighting the judgment. This past year, Seven inked deals with 32 more carriers, bringing its total count to 108 carrier partners. Sprint, Alltel and 3 are a few examples of Seven's clients.
