Sling Media garners $46.6M in financing

Sling Media, which makes a set-top box that allows users to access their television programs, music and pictures from their laptops and other mobile devices, has secured a whopping $46.6 million in a second round of financing from the likes of Goldman Sachs, Liberty Media and satellite broadcast provider EchoStar. To be sure, carriers are paying attention to these types of developments, which are designed to bypass the subscription fees customers pay for content.
