Sony Ericsson passed on building the Nexus One

Sony Ericsson was approached by Google about being the manufacturer of the Nexus One, the Android-powered smartphone Google is selling in its own online store, but declined the opportunity. Bert Nordberg, the handset maker's CEO, confirmed the decision to the Swedish publication Sydsvenskan. Nordberg said the company instead wants to focus on building its own brand in the U.S. market rather than acting as an original design manufacturer.  Article, article
