An Argentine entrepreneur aims to unite WiFi APs across Europe with the launch of FON. FON users ("foneros") with Linux-enabled APs can download software to open up their home APs and link them to other foneros' APs, thus creating an alternative to muni-WiFi. The scheme banks on the notion that WiFi users on average need only 3 percent of their capacity.
