SPOTLIGHT: AAA battery-powered mobile phone

It's not a first for the wireless industry, but Royal Philips Electronics announced a mobile phone that makes use of a AAA battery for extended power when the main source runs low. Philips' phone has a built-in compartment for an ordinary AAA that it claims will extend talk time by three extra hours. Plugging the phone in will recharge both the stock battery and the AAA one. No word yet on pricepoints for the handset or if it will be sold in the U.S. In year's past we have seen other battery-powered phones, which never entered the mass market. WSJ article (sub. req.)
