The combination of BellSouth and AT&T won't put old "Ma Bell" back together, the companies argue in a filing with the SEC. "The era of Ma Bell was devoid of any substantial cable industry, wireless, (voice over Internet protocol), the Internet, or satellite television," the companies said in the filing.
