Some pundits suggest that the carriers take a page out of the music industry's playbook and cultivate an ecosystem of developers. Just as music studios give advances and other incentives to find new artists, so too should carriers give promising small developers resources to bring new applications to market. By spreading out their assistance, carriers can control their risk and cast their seeds far and wide.
