SPOTLIGHT: Comcast eyes 'SmartPlay' brand for quadruple play

Comcast is has filed a trademark for branding a quadruple-play bundle it plans to market this summer with Sprint Nextel. Comcast obtained a trademark for the brand "SmartPlay," described in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office filing as something that could be used for "telecommunications services; computer services; Internet services; providing multiple-user access to a global computer network; Internet-telephony services; mobile and wireless telephony services; broadcasting services." A Comcast spokeswoman wouldn't comment but said the filing "speaks for itself." Article
