SPOTLIGHT: Faulty phones

Handset quality control remains a challenge, according to a new UK study. A magazine report finds that one-in-seven new mobile phones sold to UK consumers develop problems, 70 percent in the first six months. Video phone operator 3 had the poorest record, with over one-in-three handsets on its network having problems within the first year of purchase. Orange had 15 percent of its handsets develop faults within a year, while 14 percent of the phones offered by T-Mobile and Vodafone proved troublesome. Article
