SPOTLIGHT: Interview: LiMo director discusses Google's Android


"LiMo's focus is different from Google's. We are focused exclusively on the middleware, so we explicitly do not address the user experience layer as part of the LiMo mission," LiMo's executive director Morgan Gillis told FierceDeveloper. "That's quite deliberate. Philosophically, we believe that the value line on handsets has shifted up significantly now. Most of the value now lies in the user experience layer and LiMo's role is to create the middleware. Our mission is to catalyze next generation user experiences of all kinds, but not to try to produce those experiences from within LiMo. We feel that this is a very natural way to conduct our affairs. It means we can focus totally on one part of the system and not get into conflict with our partners." Interview
