According to a recent report from IDC, converged mobile devices topped 80 million units in 2006, up 42 percent year-on-year. Q4 saw vendors shipping 23.5 million devices, up 33.5 percent from the same quarter last year. Decreased pricepoints and greater selection of devices drove the demand, according to the research firm.
