SPOTLIGHT: State Wireless Associations

Wireless service providers and vendors are joining together in several states, primarily in the Southeast, to form wireless associations. Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee already have such organizations. The latest state with a wireless association is Florida. The Florida Wireless Association, with 35 members, is scheduled to hold its first meeting today in Boca Raton. Like its sister groups, the FWA will serve as a conduit for communicating with government representatives, including local planning boards on tower placement issues. Wireless associations are also being formed in North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana and Mississippi. Article
