SPOTLIGHT: Telephia: 2M mobile TV subscribers in Q1

Research from Telephia shows that more than 2 million, or 1.4 percent of the U.S. wireless customer base, subscribed to a mobile video plan in the first quarter. The average mobile TV subscriber spends about $40 per month or more on wireless services than non-TV subscribers, the firm said. Further, Telephia said the Hispanic and Black/African-American demographic segments consisted of 23 percent and 19 percent, respectively, of the mobile TV subscriber base in the U.S. during the first quarter.
