SPOTLIGHT: Time to rename the cell phone?

BusinessWeek has a timely article on whether the "cell phone" is an outdated term that is ready to be put to pasture. Of course it is. Since the "cellular" system is integrating with WiFi and other technologies to accommodate services beyond voice, the term is certainly antiquated. Unless Nokia's "multimedia computers" or Samsung's "mobile informational terminal" buzz words catch on, I don't think a marketer will snap her fingers and create this cultural shift. Unless, of course, the impossible happens and we start calling them all iPhones. Shudder. Article
