SPOTLIGHT: WiMedia Partners with Ecma

The WiMedia Alliance said it is working with Ecma International to develop a global standard for Ultrawideband (UWB). The two companies said they hope to prevent UWB from becoming fragmented and balkanized. UWB promises to bring high-speed wireless connectivity to the home networking and streaming media market. The technology could be harmed by standard balkanization as several groups have splintered over which way UWB should evolve. Article
