The total number of mobile connections around the world reached 2.5 billion sometime yesterday, according to estimates from Wireless Intelligence, a venture between Ovum and the GSM Association. The group says worldwide growth is running more than 40 million new connections per month--the highest volume the market has ever witnessed.
