Sprint inks deal with Motorola to extend iDEN support through 2013

Under a new agreement between the two companies, Motorola (NYSE:MOT) will support Sprint Nextel's (NYSE:S) iDEN network through the end of 2013. The deal covers the supply of software and services. Sprint has indicated it plans to begin shutting down the iDEN push-to-talk network in 2013 as part of its network modernization plan.
