Mobile application platform provider mFoundry announced a formal agreement with Sprint to deliver mobile banking and financial services to the operator's Vision and Power Vision subscribers. The Sprint Spotlight mobile banking solution will enable consumers to check bank balances, transfer funds and make bill payments with participating financial institutions including Citibank. The single-point solution boasts security safeguards like multi-factor authentication, encryption and remote deactivation. According to mFoundry, its existing mBanking product is integrated into the Spotlight platform, and all of its current mobile banking customers will be included in the Sprint Spotlight solution.
"Offering our Sprint customers a way to quickly check their balance and manage their banking account anytime, anywhere on the Sprint National Network, is just another example of the power of mobility," said Sprint VP of user experience and emerging products Mike Coffey in a prepared statement. "Mobile banking is an excellent complement to the many other data applications that we offer. The Spotlight solution allows us to offer a distinct, flexible solution for financial institutions as well as mobile subscribers."
