Strategy Analytics: Smartphone sales charged back in Q4

Smartphone market shareAccording to research firm Strategy Analytics, smartphone sales jumped 30 percent year-over-year in the fourth quarter to 53 million units--a boom that corresponds with a wider acceleration of the global handset market during the period. Nokia had a remarkably strong quarter in terms of smartphones, and easily outpaced Research In Motion and Apple for the global smartphones sales and market share lead.
