Switch-Mobile intros international calling app

Switch-Mobile is the latest company to target the cost-sensitive international calling crowd. The company introduced the Globe Dialer, a software application users download onto their phones that functions as a secondary phone book for all international contacts. When a users call a number from the Globe Dialer phonebook, the call is automatically routed through the system but the call only uses domestic minutes with a user's existing operator. The international component of the call goes through the Globe Dialer account and is charged at calling-card rates. The plan works with Sony, Motorola, Nokia and Treo Java-enabled phones; BlackBerry, Samsung and LG are coming soon.
