T-Mobile gets high marks for customer care

For the fifth consecutive year, T-Mobile USA is receiving accolades for its customer care. In the semi-annual J.D. Power and Associates 2007 Wireless Customer Care Performance Study, T-Mobile ranked highest among the top five wireless carriers for creating a positive experience for customers who contact the carrier for assistance.

T-Mobile scored 107 points followed by Verizon Wireless with 101 points.  Alltel ranked third with 99 points followed by Cingular with 94 and Sprint Nextel with 92.

The study found that more than one-half of wireless users have contacted customer care services departments for assistance, which is a decline of 7 percent from the previous reporting period. This statistic supports a similar finding by Cingular Wireless, which yesterday said during its earnings call that it had seen a significant reduction in customer care calling rates.
