Time Warner announces Pivot details

Time Warner Cable announced it will rebrand its "Mobile Access" cellular service as "Pivot" in conjunction with launches in the Kansas City and San Antonio markets. Sprint had already announced that its joint venture with the cable MSO would be rebranded as Pivot, but this marks the first time an MSO has announced details of their particular offering.

The MVNO service will include both mobile TV and email applications in addition to combined mobile and landline voice services. According to Time Warner, new Pivot services will continue to roll out in the months ahead, among them DVR programming via mobile and local video content.

"Where we think our wireless offer is unique [is] in how it integrates with our Internet service, our [home] phone service and our video," Time Warner spokesman Jon Gary Herrera told the San Antonio Express-News. "We're offering something no one else can offer."
