Trend: Mobile Internet usage increasing in U.K.

According to the Mobile Data Association, mobile users in the U.K. accessed the Internet via their mobile devices about 15.9 million times throughout December 2006. That figure makes for an increase of 1 million unique sessions over November's previous record. In the past three months mobile users accessed the Internet via a handset 45.6 million times. The report pulled from data from O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone. Jupiter Research analyst Thomas Husson said that despite the increase, mobile data is "far from being mainstream."
