Trend: wVoIP in the enterprise to triple by 2007

According to a new study by Infonetics Research, the number of enterprises that deploy VoIP over WLAN will triple during the next two years. Today, 10 percent of North American enterprises utilize VoIP over WLANs. Infonetics expects that percentage to increase to 31 percent by 2007. The study claims that the increase will be driven by the growing availability of wireless VoIP handsets and voice-enabling wireless infrastructure. Infonetics projects that 57 percent of small enterprises, 62 percent of medium enterprises, and 72 percent of large enterprises in North America will use WLANs by 2009.
