United States Cellular announced its third-quarter results finally to correct the accounting for prepaid forward contracts: Net income rose 52 percent to $35.9 million. Revenue rose 12 percent as it grew to $888.5 million from $795.1 million in the year-ago period. The results are better than expected, according to a poll by Thomson Financial, analysts expected revenue of $860.3 million.
