Push notifications have become an immutable part of the modern smartphone and tablet landscape. They can be a way for developers and platform companies to stay connected to consumers, but if the balance isn't right some may feel like they're being stalked--or worse. Recent events around AppGratis suggest that for some developers, perceived abuse of the technique may have them run afoul of major platform providers.
