Virgin Mobile USA announced a new pricing plan that includes 1,000 Anytime minutes with unlimited nights and weekends for $99.99 per month (no annual contract.) The $99.99 a month plan joins Virgin Mobile USA's seven other By-the-Month and By-the-Minute plans. The press release for the new service also mentions that Virgin Mobile won't follow the recent trend in SMS pricing: "As some wireless carriers are raising texting prices to as high as fifteen cents per message, Virgin Mobile maintains its five-cent cost for individual texts, while providing customers the ability to "penny text" at just $9.99 per month for 1,000 text messages."
