Vodafone cuts 450 jobs

In an effort to simplify its operating model, Vodafone Group announced plans to cut some 450 jobs within its U.K. business. Senior management levels will be cut 20 percent as part of the layoffs. The carrier said most of the layoffs will be at its Newbury headquarters. In tandem with the layoffs, the company will recruit 330 retail advisers to increase its customer service ranks in its stores. Vodafone also plans to build a new customer services center in Stoke-on-Trent and will create 130 sales and services jobs within its enterprise business.
